Achieving intercultural competence is not merely a specific skill, but a combination of knowledge, skills, attitudes and values successfully applied to face-to-face or online.

Intercultural competency leads to:

  • Respectful interactions in increasingly diverse societies to limit cultural prejudices;

  • Help young people to more easily adapt, apply and transfer their skills and knowledge to new cultural contexts;

  • Form new generations who care about global issues and get engaged in solving social, political, economic and environmental challenges.

“Education gives us the chance to understand that we are all tied together as citizens of the global community, and that our challenges are interconnected.”

— Ban Ki-moon, UN Secretary-General
